IN THE HEART OF VIOTÁ: A GATHERING AROUND COFFEE, PEACE, AND HUMANITY
There are moments that give true meaning to a project.
Our visit to Viotá, in the heart of Cundinamarca, Colombia, is undoubtedly one of them.
We went there after carefully receiving, selecting, and roasting coffee samples from 12 local producers. But the most important stage was yet to come: returning to their lands, meeting them, and sharing with them the tasting of their own freshly roasted coffee.
A MEETING, A SHARING, A CONNECTION
This day was much more than a simple report of results.
It was a profound human encounter, a moment of sincere exchange between coffee lovers.
We were able to highlight the exceptional potential of their coffees, offer them advice for improvement, and, above all, show them that their approach—artisanal, ecological, and chemical-free—is the true path to specialty coffee.
SIGNERS OF PEACE, GROWERS OF THE FUTURE
The producers we met are peace signatories: former combatants who made the brave decision to return to the land and rebuild their lives through agriculture. Their humility, kindness, and willingness to do things right moved us deeply.
These men and women are not just coffee growers.
They are actors of a peaceful Colombia, guardians of a land they care for, and architects of a sustainable model that respects both nature and traditions.
A UNITED AND INSPIRING COMMUNITY
That day, the entire town came together to welcome us.
In particular, the mayor of Viotá, Óscar Hernán Quiroga, whose presence and enthusiasm reinforced the meaning of this encounter.
A very special thanks to Luis Enrique, known as Lucho, director of the Viotá Coffee Growers Association, for his warm welcome, availability, and deep kindness.
The reception we received was warm, generous, and unforgettable.
Viotá is a land of coffee, but above all, a land of hope.
A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU
We would like to wholeheartedly thank Antonio Romero, director of Arte y Pasión Café, roaster trainer, and barista.
Thanks to him, we were able to get to know this community, live this human and sensory experience, and share this common vision of coffee with purpose.
U’WA: WHEN COFFEE TASTES LIKE PEACE
This moment in Viotá perfectly illustrates what we want to convey with U’WA: a committed, fair, and eco-responsible coffee that brings people together and reconciles stories.
Our ambition is to give value to these exceptional coffees by honoring the hands that cultivate them.
From harvest to cup, every step is an act of commitment, respect, and sharing.
Thank you, Viotá. Thank you to its producers. Thank you to peace.
And to you, dear reader, welcome to our world.
